Question from Pete: Asked on 05/05/2026 Do I use this item with a UniFi AP WiFi 6 Access Point AX2900 3.0 Gbps ?? And if so how ? guessing I need a cable from router to the switch / injector then the cat5/6 cable then goes onto the WAP ?
Hi, The Ubiquiti POE-24-12W injector is not compatible with UniFi WiFi 6 (AX2900) access points, as it is a 24V passive PoE device designed for legacy Ubiquiti hardware, whereas WiFi 6 UniFi access points require 802.3af/802.3at active PoE (48V standard). These newer access points use PoE negotiation and will not power correctly from 24V passive injectors, so a PoE+ (802.3af/at) power source or compatible 48V active PoE injector is required instead.
