The 3Com Network Jack Power over Ethernet Single-Port Midspan Solution can power a network jack over standard Category 5 or 5e Ethernet cabling. This 48-volt inline power source installs right in the switch closet, eliminating an exposed power supply and extra wiring at the workspace. Installing Power over Ethernet helps save time and money because it is less vulnerable to damage or tampering than a local power supply.
