Expand/CollapseBuying Advice

14-Nov-2007 jamie17: will 2 laptops be able to run of this router and the speed not decrease if there is 2 laptops downloading at the same time will this be the router for me.

Easycom: This will be fine for 2 laptops, however this will connect to cable Internet connection, if you have ADSL then you will need an ADSL router.

23-Nov-2007 Colin: I have a desk top computer to connect as well as various laptops. My broadband is fed via a speed touch modem which has a usb connection to the desk top. How do I connect my modem to the D link?

Easycom: Looking at the speedtouch modem you have ADSL boradband instead of cable broadband. This router is for Cable broadband. As the speedtouch modem connects using a USB connection you will need to purchase modem router, in order to network your Internet connection. Product code DG834PN is a modem router, this will allow you to connect your desktops and laptops either wirelessly or using an RJ45 connection.
